Marble
Marble is made up of both metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, all of which are composed of calciferous particles. It is a relatively homogenous and compact natural stone. Most marbles were formed between 50 to 250 million years ago and can be found worldwide from connemara to capetown. It is a much softer stone than granite which makes it easier to work with but that little bit harder to keep!
Marble has been associated with luxury and comfort since ancient times. Palaces, country homes and luxury hotels were and often still are excessively decorated with marble floors, marble facades, marble statues, etc. The passage of time simply makes this stone more beautiful, a process of ‘aging gracefully’ which can be seen in classical buildings through out the world.
We import all our marbles in directly from their source of origin from: Portugal,Spain,Italy,India and Turkey.
